• About Sandbox Logistics

Founded in 2012 in Houston, Texas, SandBox Logistics is a private company that focuses on providing storage, handling, and well-site delivery services for proppant used in hydraulic fracturing plants. While SandBox Logistics is headquartered in Houston, it operates all over the major shale plays and basins in the US, such as the Permian and Appalachian basins.

Considering the health impacts of silica dust in frac sand, SandBox Logistics uses containerized equipment that avoids transferring frac sand multiple times. This compact form of storing and transferring not only reduces the spread of silica dust in the air but also reduces road traffic. Moreover, the process lowers the cost of operation by replacing the need for movers, silos, and other equipment that require higher investment capital. Likewise, it enhances efficiency by eliminating various hassles like demurrage, rail shrinkage, and contamination while trans-loading multiple times.

Besides its business ventures, SandBox is also actively involved in research and development in the industry. It participated in the 2016 DUG Eagle Ford Conference and Exhibition, which focused on assessing efficiency strategies and technologies for different industry professionals. SandBox also often sponsors community events and activities like the 2015 Weld County Fair in Greeley, Colorado.
